Retirement Plan Advisor Scott L. Schlappi, CEBS, AIFA® Joins the Retirement Advisor Council

East Granby, CT – March 5, 2015 Scott L. Schlappi, CEBS, AIFA® has joined the Retirement Advisor Council effective January 1, 2015. 

As President of Wealth Plan Advisors, Scott Schlappi leads a team of experienced retirement professionals who provide specialized industry expertise and objectivity in serving retirement plan sponsors, their committees and plan participants.  The WealthPlan team averages 15 years of experience and helps plan sponsors with plan design, investment selection and monitoring and plan governance services–serving as 3(21)/3(38) fiduciary – as well as comprehensive participant education including one-on-one counseling.  WealthPlan Advisors has over $1 Billion assets under Advisement serves 20,000 participants, and was named by Forbes magazine as one of the Fastest-Growing Registered Investment Advisors in the United States.  

Mr. Schlappi was nominated for a seat on the Council in September 2014.  The Nomination Committee recommended his application for Council membership after a comprehensive review process that took multiple factors into consideration including his extensive knowledge of retirement plans, his diligence and documentation regarding the fiduciary process and his considerable expertise with nonqualified deferred compensation plans.  The Executive Board of the Council approved Mr. Schlappi’s nomination in January 2015.

The Retirement Advisor Council is a national organization that advocates for successful qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes through the collaborative efforts of experienced, qualified retirement plan advisors, investment managers and defined contribution plan service providers.  To advance its mission, the Council undertakes initiatives in the areas of research, public relations and promotion, general public education, regulatory positions and practice management.  The Council accomplishes this mission by:
