East Granby, CT –  Erik Tappin CRPS® has joined the Retirement Advisor Council effective January 1, 2016.

As Senior Vice President-Wealth Management with Morgan Stanley, Mr. Tappin uses his extensive experience working with both public and private companies to provide specialized retirement plan guidance. With 50 retirement plans, approximately 30,000 participants and $820 million in plan assets, Mr. Tappin leverages his 20 years of experience in the business to benefit his clients at both the institutional and individual levels.

Mr. Tappin was nominated for a seat on the Council in November 2015.  The Nomination Committee recommended his application for Council membership after a comprehensive review process that took multiple factors into consideration including his extensive expertise in both public and private retirement plans and his service as a Director within Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Corporate Client Group.  The Executive Board of the Council approved Mr. Tappin’s nomination in January of 2016.

“I provide my clients with a completely unbiased perspective because my firm doesn’t offer a 401(k) platform or investment funds. I always help clients find the best provider, service, investments and billing type to fit their unique needs. I’m excited to join the Council to participate in sharing industry best practices all for the benefit of my clients,” said Mr. Tappin.
