Retirement Plan Advisor Matt Lasko, CFP® Joins the Retirement Advisor Council

East Granby, CT – Matt Lasko, CFP®, has joined the Retirement Advisor Council effective January 1, 2016.

Mr. Lasko is a Senior Vice President, Wealth Management at UBS M3 Investment Consultants in Dallas, Texas. He and his team offer a broad range of services, including fiduciary governance, plan health optimization and participant retirement readiness assessments. Based on their partnerships with UBS advisors around the country, they work on national accounts representing 75 clients with over 10,000 participants and $400 million in assets. Mr. Lasko is the co-chair of the Senior Retirement Plan Consulting Group and UBS.

Mr. Lasko was nominated for a seat on the Council in November 2015.  The Nomination Committee recommended his application for Council membership after a comprehensive review process that took multiple factors into consideration including his commitment to best fiduciary practices for his clients and his interest in the changing retirement landscape and the challenges it presents.  The Executive Board of the Council approved Mr. Lasko’s nomination in January 2016.

“Retirement Readiness is getting more and more exposure from the media and the legislative body. I think it will be interesting to work together with my peers on the Council to develop sustainable ideas.” said Mr. Lasko.

The Retirement Advisor Council is a national organization that advocates for successful qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes through the collaborative efforts of experienced, qualified retirement plan advisors, investment managers and defined contribution plan service providers.  To advance its mission, the Council undertakes initiatives in the areas of research, public relations and promotion, general public education, regulatory positions and practice management.  The Council accomplishes this mission by:

  • Identifying duties, responsibilities, and attributes of the Professional Retirement Plan Advisor.
  • Sharing professional standards with plan sponsors who are responsible for the success of their plans.
  • Providing collective thought capital to decision makers, product providers, legislators and the public.
  • Giving voice to the retirement plan advisor community.
  • Offering tools to evaluate advisors to ensure the quality of services provided.
