Thornburg Investment Management Joins the Retirement Advisor Council

East Granby, CT – We are pleased to announce Thornburg Investment Management has joined the Retirement Advisor Council as part of the Investment Manager college.
Thornburg is one of 19 investment managers on the Council. The company will be represented by Christina Stauffer, CFA, who is Head of DCIO Business Development, and will serve on the Council’s government affairs committee.
“We are very much looking forward to the knowledge sharing that I know the Council and its members will provide. Keeping up to date with what’s happening across the retirement plan industry—and sharing our experiences—helps us all stay current with the latest best practices that can help benefit all retirement plan participants,” said Stauffer.
Thornburg believes retirement is a mile marker in a long journey, not the finish line, and knows that knowledge is the blueprint for success for retirement planning. There’s always a question as to how many of us will be able to retire. Thornburg notes that baby boomers especially face a retirement crisis as a result of fewer retirement benefits and rising eligibility ages and says for the best retirement outcomes, longevity planning is the key.
The Retirement Advisor Council is a national organization that advocates for successful qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes through the collaborative efforts of experienced, qualified retirement plan advisors, investment managers and defined contribution plan service providers. To advance its mission, the Council undertakes initiatives in the areas of research, public relations and promotion, general public education, regulatory positions and practice management. The Council accomplishes this mission by:
- Identifying duties, responsibilities, and attributes of the Professional Retirement Plan Advisor.
- Sharing professional standards with plan sponsors who are responsible for the success of their plans.
- Providing collective thought capital to decision makers, product providers, legislators and the public.
- Giving voice to the retirement plan advisor community
- Offering tools to evaluate advisors to ensure the quality of services provided.
